Built for Zimbabwe

When everyone puts in, everyone can see it.

Collect money together — for a funeral, a farewell, an office gift or a church offering — and keep one book that every member can read. No more chasing the treasurer for a total.

Free to start. People can contribute without making an account.

Funeral

Funeral contribution for Sekuru Moyo

US$122.92 of US$500.00
  • T Tendai Confirmed US$25.00
  • G Gogo Moyo Confirmed US$40.00

An example collection. Every figure comes from the ledger, not a summary.

The book can't be edited

Entries are permanent. Corrections show as corrections.

Everyone sees the same total

Members read the ledger themselves, any time.

Money out is recorded too

Who received it, when, and how much — in the same book.

One place for the way people already pool money

These groups have run on trust and an exercise book for generations. Homwe keeps the trust and replaces the exercise book.

Funerals

Raise what the family needs quickly, from relatives at home and abroad, with every contribution recorded.

Offices and churches

A leaving present, a harvest offering, a whip-round for a colleague. One link, one list everyone can read.

Gifts

A farewell, a wedding, a thank-you for the pastor. Share a link and let people give what they can.

Fees and bills

School fees, a hospital bill, a roof that needs fixing. Pay the school or the parlour directly — the money never has to sit in anybody's wallet.

Three steps, about a minute

  1. 1

    Create

Say what it's for, whether you need family abroad to give, and where the money goes — a person's EcoCash number, or a business's paybill.

  2. 2

    Share

Send the link to your WhatsApp group. People give without signing up for anything.

  3. 3

    Collect and pay out

Watch it come in, then send it on. Groups that want it can require two people to sign before money leaves.

Pay the way people actually pay

EcoCash, from anyone with the link — a prompt arrives on their phone and it is in the book before they have put the phone down. Collections that need family abroad can take Visa and Mastercard too, chosen when the collection is started.

EcoCash Visa Mastercard

Both US dollars and ZiG. A collection stays in one currency — nothing is converted behind your back. A collection taking EcoCash alone can be paid out the same day; one that also takes cards settles to a bank account on banking days.

Money stays in the pocket it arrived in

Each currency is kept apart, and money can only leave the way it came in. So instead of one total that might not be sendable, you see exactly what can go where.

  • USD · EcoCash US$58.53

Everyone has their part

Organiser

Starts the collection, sets where the money goes, shares the link and closes it when it's done.

Treasurer

Sets money aside for the beneficiary and sends it, and reads the book alongside everyone else.

Secretary

Keeps the register and the details of a collection, without the keys to send money out.

Member

Contributes, sees what they've given, and reads the same ledger as everyone else.

Viewer

For the auditor, or a family member who should see everything and change nothing.

Signatory

Named on the mandate. Where a group asks for it, no money leaves until enough of them have signed — and the book says which ones did.

What it costs

Nothing to start, and nothing per month. Two charges apply, both stated before anybody commits to anything.

2.45% when money comes in

The charge on money coming in by mobile money. A contributor sees it on screen before they enter their PIN: what they pay, the fee, and what reaches the pot.

5% when money goes out

Our own charge, taken only on what is actually paid out. The pot a group watches fill is the figure they were promised.

Collecting for a bill? Tick "this exact amount must reach them" when you start, and we raise a little more so the charges come out of the extra rather than out of the bill.
